Caithness and North Sutherland Regeneration Partnership
Weekly Update, 6th September 2010
I have been working on papers to go to our Advisory Board and Executive Board. The Advisory Board meets on Monday 13th and will have an update from a Scottish Government representative on progress with the Pentland Firth Marine Energy project.
I have been working with colleagues at HIE to agree more detailed delivery plans for our agreed priority areas of energy and business services. This information will be circulated to partners and a final version agreed.
I brought together communications representatives from HIE, Highland Council and NDA to discuss how we communicate progress with our range of activities. We have now agreed a revised set of actions to improve this aspect of our work, and I will be circulating a summary of this to the partners.
I participated in a workshop session held by Caithness Chamber of Commerce to feed in policy ideas to the Scottish Chambers network. The session was attended by the Head of Policy for Scottish Chambers and by a number of local businesses. Discussion focused on a range of topics such as energy, transport, skills & education, digital connectivity.
I met with two colleagues from Trades Unions at Dounreay to discuss progress with our work, and to highlight upcoming activities where support would be welcomed.
