Weekly update, 11th February 2013

Tourism, Food & Drink:
Talent Scotland is currently advertising a Graduate Team Leader post, salary £16,000 p.a., for Natural Retreats who are recruiting for a recent graduate for a 12 month Team Leader role. The successful graduate will have the opportunity to work closely with an experienced General Manager and with senior members of the Natural Retreats team. Closing date for applications is 10th March 2013. Enabling activities:
I met this week with Partnership colleagues to review inward investment leads, and to firm up our forward marketing plans. Discussions also continued this week on plans to take messages on investment opportunities to potential investors at specific partner-led events.

Next Thursday and Friday sees the start of the Charrette process for both Wick and Thurso. The Wick Charrette starts on Thursday 21st from 2pm – 8pm in the Assembly Rooms, with the Thurso event in the Pentland Hotel on Friday 22nd from 2pm – 8pm. I will make short presentations on CNSRP and future opportunities as part of the “Local Economy” workshops at both events. These are due to be held at 6pm on each day.

Communications:
As part of an ongoing process of helping communicate progress with the delivery of aspects of our economic transition programme CNSRP’s partners work together to generate news stories for local, regional and national media. I also speak on a regular basis to individuals and organisations across the area to update on progress. This week:
