Major Project - Offshore Wind - Caithness and North Sutherland Regeneration Partnership

Support to the offshore wind industry, primarily the Beatrice and potentially Moray ventures. Primarily focused around Wick Harbour, this opportunity extends to the wider supply chain and indirect jobs that could result from these projects.

Major Project - Offshore Wind

Beatrice Offshore Windfarm Ltd (BOWL) construction has begun and the windfarm is likely to be in full operation in 2018. Moray Offshore Renewables Ltd (MORL) is awaiting a decision on their Contract for Difference from the Government and if successful, is likely to begin construction in 2018 for full operation in 2020. The work is focussed around operation and maintenance a longevity of ~35 years.

The work under this major project will focus on the potential for local engineering supply chain growth in support of this market and potential inward investment from industry support companies. Harbour activities are covered under Infrastructure

Strategic geographical location of the area to the market

Highlands and Islands Enterprise. Supply chain companies will of course decide on their target markets, however, the CNSRP activity is to make sure they get all the help they need to identify opportunities and make this a reality. Also, Wick Harbour will deal with all infrastructure and commercial arrangements with offshore wind companies.
