Using the Job Numbers Process, employment information (job numbers) is generated for the future, taking into account the decommissioning of Dounreay, the progress of the Major Projects and the activities in established businesses. This can be shown graphically to give a trend of how the area will fare, economically, in the next 10 years. When looking at the graphs, there are some important things to remember:
The first graph shows what CNSRP believe are the best realistic figure (Best Estimate) for employment in the future. The second graph is a modified number (Modified Estimate – see Job Numbers Process) that takes into account the likelihood of opportunities materialising.

This set of information shows that after 10 years the trend in job growth is positive (these are sustainable jobs – longer than 5 years).
